Why The Wellness Project Matters
A personal, heart-warming note from a recipient of a Wellness Box

We are delivering Wellness Boxes (above) to those who need it most here in Guelph, Ontario.
I was brought to tears when I read the feedback from one of our Wellness Box recipients.
While I fully expected the project to brighten someone's day, I didn’t expect it to have this kind of impact:
“Every time you go out, you're at risk and it's so hard. I’m a person with a disability. When you're inside all the time, things become the same. A lot.”
“Everything is the same, so getting that Wellness Box was like… someone thought about me.”
Through our partnership with HOPE House in Guelph, we are reminding community members that they’re cared for and thought of.
As we continue to follow physical distancing rules, health experts are becoming increasingly concerned about the emotional impact of these lost connections. Many people in our community are experiencing anxiety, loneliness, and depression as a consequence of physical distancing.
Making someone’s day matters. And it matters more than ever right now.
“I felt cared for. I felt special. I felt hope. I felt that I could get through this. It brought me back to the way that I... it was surprising, you know, like a gift from God.”
“When that gets delivered and it's a special box, it’s presents inside, and it's like Christmas or like your birthday. Do you know how nice it was to eat strawberries?”
Every box includes healthy fruits like avocados and strawberries, and mental wellness items like colouring books. From the bright pink fluffies inside, to the handwritten note with a positive message, we want the recipient to feel like they’re receiving something special.
It’s so much more than what’s inside the box.
“It's so hard to explain something so precious and priceless, it's a really kind thing. It feels like you're part of a bigger thing you know?”
“It makes you want to do something back for someone else.”
